Tips to Keep Your Dog Cool This Summer

While the summer heat hasn’t fully arrived yet, it’s just around the corner, and that means it’s time to start thinking about how to keep your dog cool and comfortable in the warmer months ahead. From frozen treats to shaded adventures and smart gear, we’ve put together a few easy, creative ways to help your pup stay safe and beat the heat before it sets in.

Provide Plenty of Fresh Water
Keep bowls full and place extras around the house or yard. On walks or hikes, carry a portable water bottle with a built-in bowl.

Avoid Midday Walks
Schedule walks during early morning or evening when temperatures are cooler and pavement is less harsh on paws.

Make Shade a Priority
Whether you're at home or out and about, ensure your dog has access to shady spots to rest and cool off.

Cool Treats Are a Win
Freeze dog-friendly treats or stuff a Kong with wet food and freeze it. Perfect for both entertainment and cooling down.

Watch for Overheating Signs
Excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting can be signs of heatstroke. Know the symptoms and act fast.

Backyard Splash Zone
Set up a kiddie pool or sprinkler for your pup to splash around in! Bonus: it makes for adorable content too.
