Born and raised in the south, Tupelo, Mississippi, I still have a little accent and say “Y’all”. I attended college in Mathiston, MS before making my way to Baytown, TX. I worked for the Baytown Police Department and Judge R.L. Smith. I attended the Harris County Sheriff’s Academy. Times were different then, there were only four women in my class. I also went to paralegal school, all as a single mom raising my daughter.
My daughter and I moved to Ft. Collins, CO in 1980, where I worked for Stu VanMeveren, District Attorney at that time. Aspen was my next move. My husband and I owned and operated a dry cleaner: “Tim Harris, the Cleaner.” In addition to operating the dry cleaners, I worked as a paralegal for an attorney and received my real estate license in 1996.
We moved to Fruita, CO in 1997 and started from scratch “Grapeland”, a Bed & Breakfast. While operating it, I worked with many real estate buyers and sellers and was named “Rookie of the Year” the first year. Our B&B was a hot spot for mountain bikers from Aspen and Denver. They loved purchasing investment properties in Fruita while enjoying their time there.
I have lived in Aurora CO for 20+ years, along with my husband Ray and two dogs, Clara the Scottie, and Daisy the Westie. I enjoy working with clients as we go through the real estate process together. I have a tenacious work ethic and am in constant communication with my clients. It feels good to receive referrals from previous clients and places I’ve lived. I work with both buyers and sellers and love first-time home buyers. Over the years, I’ve helped many clients with their real estate needs, a lot of whom have become friends. The different places I’ve lived, and my different fields of work, have helped me with a wide variety of people and their needs. Charity is important to me. I have enjoyed a great life and love giving back. My favorite one is the Denver Safe House. In my free time, I enjoy photographing wildlife, riding my bicycle, road trips with our dogs, cooking, and reading.
